Objectives

Our Strategy 2020 – 2023

As part of our 2020 Program Strategy goals, ACDN is committed to gathering evidence on lasting changes taking place in the lives of people living in poverty. To do this, we are tracking a set of the 3 UN Sustainable Development Goals indicators of change between 2015 and 2023. At present, we have been able to gather evidence in Afghanistan so far. The data shows that ACDN has contributed to significant improvements for over 37 Projects in Afghanistan.

Our Strategic Priorities

We will:

1. Continue strengthening the effectiveness of our local partners to ensure they provide better and appropriate support to the communities they work with. We will also continue to identify and form partnerships with like-minded organizations which have the potential to add value to our work.

2. Continue using transformative approaches to support our partners and the communities they work with to identify and challenge aspects of cultural and religious beliefs, attitudes and practices which act as barriers to enabling them and their people to realize their potential to improve their quality of life.

3.  Continue to support our local partners and their communities to improve their effectiveness in governance, leadership and advocacy and lobbying to enable them to take a lead on processes for addressing their problems and achieving sustainable improvements.

4. Set up a small emergency response fund and increase the capacity of our local partners and the communities we support to respond to emergencies by training staff and developing linkages with humanitarian and disaster management agencies in the countries where we operate.
