We have funded 12 water projects for 0.54 million people in Afghanistan.
The projects provided and increased clean water supply for many houses in Kabul, Afghanistan by drilling 12 wells, pumping equipment and transmission pipelines. According to research in recent years, drought has exacerbated water scarcity in Afghanistan. As of December 2021, 53 percent of water points across three provinces were drying up. Decades of war and political instability compounded by climate change have decimated most of the hydrological infrastructure of the country. Afghanistan clean water access for 2020 was 27.59%, 0.79% increased from 2019. Afghanistan clean water access for 2019 was 26.80%, 0.86% increased from 2018.
